SAFEHOST
The SafeHost project: Enhancing Early GBV Detection in the Hospitality Sector, funded by the European Union’s CERV Programme is comprised of partners from Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Spain, and Denmark,
The aim of the project is to advance the early detection and support of gender-based violence in the hospitality sector through staff training, hotel partnerships, and innovative digital solutions and promote human dignity, equality, and the safety of the most vulnerable by:
- Mapping practices and barriers across hospitality and NGO sectors
- Co-developing a modular training programme for frontline hospitality staff
- Formalising partnerships and referral protocols with over 60 hotels
- Launching a multilingual mobile app with an AI chatbot and referral dashboard
- Implementing a multilingual awareness campaign targeting guests and the public

PROJECT NEWS
Kick-off meeting - Nicosia, Cyprus, 18 & 19 May 2026
The first Transnational Partner and Kick-off Meeting was held in Nicosia on May 18 & 19, hosted by CODECA – Center for Social Cohesion, Development and Care.
Over the two days, the Work Packages were discussed and clear guidelines for upcoming tasks and deliverables were set. Larnaka Tourism Board presented the project logo options and gave an overview of the proposed dissemination and communication plan.
